As far as I'm concerned, the best Saturdays are spent outdoors. I love getting out for a long bike ride on Saturdays and am going to try to do this most weekends this spring/summer as long as the weather cooperates. Yesterday the bf and I decided to enjoy the somewhat warm Toronto weather and headed out for a long bike ride along the waterfront to High Park. We wanted to get outdoors and see the cherry blossoms in the park. Here are some things I saw:
rowing practice
lots of water and seagulls
First soft serve this year. Worth the 10 min. wait in line
dogs swimming
beautiful cherry blossoms
So many people came out to adore these trees.
It was like a sea of white flowers.
Unfortunately the High Park Zoo has lost funding and is set to
close down this June. This is really sad because it's a free and accessible
activity for children and families. It was also the first zoo to open
in Canada (in 1893).  You can donate here.
I enjoy watching the bison
Happy Sunday!

OMG, those buffalo are so beautiful. We have a herd here on Long Island (managed by a local businessman).

I agree with you about spending Saturdays outdoors -- to the point where it's become my new philosophy of life. I love going into nature, etc. as an antidote to working indoors all week.

Looks lovely!! I always wanted to try cousin in England does it and I've always wanted to try. When I visited her in Vancouver BC, she took me to her rowing club...I wish I could! And now I want to go for a bike ride and eat soft serve :)

Shybiker - I also have an office job and completely agree. If I could be outside at least one day a week, hiking, riding my bike or reading in the park I would be in heaven! I am going to try harder to make that happen this summer.

Freya Lily - I did rowing this past fall through my work for about two months. It was a great way to get outside and also get some exercise. I stopped because it took me to long to get to the ports from work. If you have an opportunity to do viking rowing do it!
