Get Fit Tips?

Couch Potato Cat

North Pole Couch Potato

I would not call myself a couch potato but in the past few weeks I have slacked off when it comes to getting my butt to the gym. I try to exercise a few times a week right after work (mainly spinning, elliptical and/or weight training class) but once in a while I lose motivation or get sidetracked.

Does anyone have any get fit tips??
What helps you stay motivated??

Funny photos.

I find that resorting to formal exercise doesn't work for me. Instead, I simply move my body around more in the normal course of my day. I walk whenever there's an excuse, bend and stretch when I'm bored, and do pushups and arm-movements when I'm just hanging out. Your body needs movement and you don't need to be at a gym to do it. Plus, the more physically active you are, the easier it is to remain active. Good luck!

I think it's a matter of forcing yourself off of the couch and making yourself do it for the first couple of weeks. after that, it become habit. That, and if you don't like the gym, find group activities like Zumba or something to do!

Hey everyone! Thanks for the tips :) I like the idea of getting outdoors, varying my workouts and building physical activity into my life. I am making an effort to walk more and start running as the weather gets warmer. Buying some weights so I can do some exercises at home is also on my radar! Also thinking of joining one of those outdoor booty bootcamps this summer :) Will let you all know how it goes ;)
